Raping School

Raping School

A Poem by Einstein Noodle
"

this is my week 2 assignment for a class. we are supposed to use a correlating object to express thoughts and feelings about a social issue .. its a free on-line class from the University of Iowa

"

So many changes

Too many failures

She's supposed to succeed.

Her hands clench old and worn books

frayed grey and brown books

broken buildings

It's as though they were her only treasures.

Falling apart at the binding books

curriculum content books

long obsolete; but

in this hood .......... treasures. She can't do any better

He sees her

Waits for her

He devours her plaid skirt just below her knees and

knows she deserves it.

He smiles for her and shows his teeth

his dirty needle teeth to

bite,spit and

drool in school

they call it a crime

He hates her books, her hands, her hope.

He can barely contain the disdain .....he makes more money in a day.

the lunch packed by mother grinds to dirt her

books go down

s'pposed to save .........scattered leaves torn and blown

the dust doesn't settle

it chokes and blinds the lessons lost.
So many changes

and just another failure

life teaches us lessons books can't---and some who resent others' learning, want to burn not only the books but also the others' purpose in life...destroy them mentally, physically and emotionally.
like Lydi...want to punch this guy in his ugly , sneering teeth.
heavy hitting here...
the abuser needs to be bound within the pages and the book slammed shut and stepped on.

i was first attracted to this because anger lead me here with the title. I despise those who molest children. I've been around victims myself so this poem speaks volumes.

Now let's dissect the content.

Firstly, I always enjoy your style. The spoken word style speaks to me since i use it. I like the direction it goes in because it is not a literal translation. I am that girl who write about it in a different perspective.

Thank you for sharing!

You notice in third world countries, how a book is like a gold bar. They crave education. Sadly others don't.
Woman shouldn't be educated in the eyes of some.
Just a pity we sell the weapons to the oppressors.

The emotions in this one sting...so hard hitting a subject. I had tears for that school girl and I wanted to knock the teeth out of that b*****d's mouth if he smiled while abusing her in such a way. Amazingly powerful write, E. Lydi**

This really hurts, big E, but so it should. You have hit the nail on the head.....Education should be a road of joy, but for some, it has become a living hell. You have expressed this so well. I'm also researching the same topic myself lately. Soon I will put some words together once I have summoned enough courage for this emotional subject matter.

YOW! This is very intense & just for the perfect (short) amount of time. The build-up is gradual & innocent & not hinting of what's to come, despite the title reveal. Your details are judicious & palpable & brutally honest. This could serve as the straightforward meaning or it could also be a metaphor for the way things can go thru-out a haggard life. Definitely one of my favorites of yours that I've read so far (((HUGS)))

dear E... In my review of your very realistic portrayal of present educational decorum, I meant to say, "not to mention college and universities and further education". It is still important in any wak of life to be able to express oneself even if you become President of the United States, or a Senator or Congress person. Supreme Court Judges find that schools with a balanced curriculum are very necessary to survive in a world of different Ideals and philosophies. Thank you E. for describing the "plight" of the modern day teacher. After all, we are forever influenced by the teachers of our youth. truly, Pat
