Suppositions

Suppositions

A Poem by Einstein Noodle
"

didn't do much reworking of this..so very interested in any suggestions :)

"
Squirrels scurry about
Grey and brown and black
Gathering and hiding away
truth

half masticated leaves and tomatoes
spewing from ruminating cows

kicking over flat warm rocks
speculations explode like iridescent
Bouncing Betty or
dung beetles

news of such things a wound running
blood and detritus
mouths unable to sustain honesty
 dribble
                    drip
                         dribble
down protocol bibs
spoiled children in high chairs.

Could it be that 'the superiors' choreograph, edit and drip-feed us, little snippets of what 'they' not us, wish to hear? One for the conspiracy theorists to peruse, and are we really all mere pawns in their game of chess?

A very profound, thought provoking and subjective poem, sublime metaphor thought out, bravo E.

This guy should be knighted.
So bloody refreshing when someone just speaks the truth. Unlike our politicians who wouldn't know the truth if it touched their knees.

I'm not a big fan of squirrels . . . very abundant here & they make short work of my garden! So I'm seeing things thru the eyes of this narrator somewhat . . . & then I love the way your message pivots to the current flow of outrageousness . . . *sigh!* Both equally annoying, so I try to stay blissfully clueless as much as I can! *wink! wink!* (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

hey you - you know I was in the midst of a very intense spin class today and a thought came to mind 'there are so many pushers and peddler's these days it is important to know and understand our OWN truths'

The world shall not become less chaotic unless there is a big shift in the actual way we think. Unfortunately we are conditioned to blindly believe - and we do, for lac of time of our own investigations.

Your poem represents this for me - we all need to take time for our own silence - for within it we shall find the answers.

Great video clip E.- I had to laugh out loud! The ‘REAL f*cking news’-yes! Your adroit poem has squirrels and cows and dung beetles as political spin-doctors hiding, regurgitating and spewing ‘fake news’ all over the Animal Farm! “Blood and detritus”- Brilliant- Love it! Please leave it as is. Kudos!

You are always welcome friend! :)
I think you capture the essence of politicians and news reporters working in unison these days as they spill out sound bite, exaggerated, distorted and sanitised, skewed news for our consumption. I too like this as is 'E'

we are so much more like animals than we think...love the allusion to the cows...my favorite animals, at the time and since my childhood days in Vermont...

perfect, E...don't change a thing...the best poems just come out as they are. that is how Frank O'Hara wrote...and it worked for him...it just works in general.

First of all and apropos of nothing; e have Red squirrels here. Including my garden character who is called Cyril with a blond tail.
Now, the media, in these days of instant news is out to get it out there first. No matter whether it is accurate or not. It is interesting to look at the news from various countries and compare. What is important nowadays. 280 people killed in Somalia yesterday seems not to be.
From the squirrel to the baby, superb use of metaphor here. An excellent piece.
