Neighborhood Watch

Neighborhood Watch

A Poem by Einstein Noodle
"

I am curious to know if the video makes a difference in the impressions you get from the poem.

Neighborhood Watch

Scorching empty ocean floors
Like crumbling bones

A lifetime waiting as
Vapors inside the dropper

Black rubber bulb
Never touched and

One drop collects .....
I squeeze          it          out

Sands the arid sponge
takes it
dissipates
dehydrates ...

A large heart aches and

The hood ..............

watches in
wonder.

very strong imagery and power in your well chosen words knitted with a fine touch. you've combined words that one would never expect to go together into something meaningful as it labors to drive home your theme. something has gone amiss as we finally arrive at a stark revelation. i think we've all been there feeling like the proverbial deer in the headlights. we're all in this together? what affects one, affects all perhaps?

Well, I don't think the video is the one you originally put up , it's Foo Fighters- The Sky is a Neighborhood. And the poem? I am afraid it is a bit obscure for me to understand. I am not sure what the references are. Except that I do see the despair of the aching heart. And the neighbourhood watches on helplessly?

i will try Auntie .. and message you
You are my sunshine, my only sunshine
You make me happy when skies are gray
You'll never know dear, how much I love you
Please don't take my sunshine away.................

I'll take another bite, sip another sip...
soon the water will be poison, and the sun
our lifelong friend, shall dehydrate us to gone..
refusing to consider lives .. wearing mask and rose colored glasses..we march on to our dooms....
forgetting we are all in this together..............

Oh, I usually don't play the videos on poems...

Of course this is my take on your timely poem..
May be way off course............

Adults have become naughty children.. when they've finished with their toys, they throw them against a wall or take them to pieces... and that's what's happened to Human Beings versus our planet.

Human UNkind has been destroying a garden they thought would never die or, perhaps because of petty mindedmess, thought was made from cutprice plastic. Your words reinforce those of us who holds their world on par with just a few of those who work to keep its magic, its wonder.

Meantime, we're being smothered by our own disregard for everything near by and around us. We're losing our right and our place in Space Society.

More than a fine write, more than a heart that weeps..

A top write Einstein. We tend to look away at these atrocities with nature’s destruction or like a helpless neighbour we just watch in our apathy.

This is stark and all the more wonderful for that. It is as some say despairing. Perhaps that despair changes something. This poem seems to me to say, I think not.
Excellent and thoughful, intelligent and meaningful.

The hood, the woods, the earth, the hunted- like deer in the headlights. Earth is raped and Mean streets make a Savage Garden. Stark, graphic poem that brilliantly illustrates despair and apathy incarnate. “Dissipate, dehydrate”- yes, death happens, but nobody and nothing changes on the block. Superb write E.

Such desperation and a feeling of despair runs through this piece..the hood seems to be stuck in a rut same old same old..day in.. day out....the vapors in stillness caught.. waiting for something .. anything .. better to come their way.. to break the meager and mundane.exiistance..wondering will it happen...great pen E..

This could be someone who actually lived in the neighbourhood all their lives. Just watching life go by. Also got the sands of time running through it.

I read poem, checked out the picture, and watched the vid.

What I am coming up with, and I could be wrong here, is we are part of a universal family, and at the moment we are doing a very poor job in regards to managing natural resources and ourselves.

The scorched sands has an apocalyptic feel, while waiting like vapours in a dropper suggests missed opportunities. The watching and wondering seems to fit in well with this idea, as it is an excuse for doing nothing?

Great poem, big meaning!
