Moon Shots

Moon Shots

Did I hear howling on the midnight breeze
your refrains harmonize with spirits almighty
a lithe arabesque backlit naked ebony trees
when Granny Moon donned her ruby nightie

swoops to the earth kissing grey tree tops
spotlight of moon shards chasing their shadows
she gracefully crosses the street east to west .................... then stops.
Waiting to fill love's hearts bleeding fallow

A fond caress harvested from fingertips
your touch gliding beside her nightly glow
kinship undimmed by a fleeting eclipse
before her ocean plunge she lets it go.

too soon is gone the glorious sight
as mountain and tree tops reach up to hide
the fairest of moon's rare earthly delight
super and blue and blood together abide

now i in repose and she without nightie
slip down deep sleep as daybreak begins
tucking earthen warm leaves round each tightly
kissing and kissing the cheeks of her grins.

This is an awesome blending of moon image painted in words and lovers wooing under the blooming of the nights sky. It is a seamless collaboration

This is wonderful. It is a change from your usual style ... I can see Barleygirl's influence, but I am sure you both agreed on the references ........very impressive. Well done, both of you.

How beautifully you guys have painted the haunting link between the moon and romance.....if the moon controls tides one would think that it could also influence us a bit, right? ;)

“Kissing the cheeks of her grin”.....so apt! :)

Nice to see the blue moon in double.
Well, double speak to speak of.
You both capture the essence of the blue moon, and what it means to people.
Just wondering if it's affected this site.
Though that could just be Margie prancing about.
