Your Mirror

Your Mirror

A Poem by Kim
"

A poem that regresses in such a way as to depict a lost sense of self

"

Reflecting love

Genuflecting love

My life - your mirror

Life's not my own

Existing to serve you

I'm all alone

My feelings are yours

I can't be me

I'd destroy your concept

of reality

Teach me your feelings, so I may feel

Teach me your reality, since mine's not real

I'll only feel what I'm told to feel

Then you'll love me - right?

Alone with your needs, mine unattended

Love's little parasite

If you're happy, I'm happy

If you're sad, I'm sad

If you're tired, I'm tired

If you're mad, I'm mad

I'm only three

I'll abandon me

This poem displays what children will do to just feel loved in a world they find NO Love.
