Cracks In My Crown

Cracks In My Crown

A Poem by Lisa McDougal
"

A short rhyming poem about the perils of drinking.

"

CRACKS IN MY CROWN

Cracks in my crown. Blood on my chin.
Liquor on the ground. From a broken bottle of gin.
Rain from the sky. Pain from the glass.
The Lord up high. The devil in the grass.
Eyes closed shut. Ears turned off.
Rumbles in my gut. Covered with a cloth.
White lights ahead. Sirens all around.
I lay dead. From the cracks in my crown.
