Monster Movies

A poem about a series I hope to write someday based on the classic monster movies of the 30's, 40's & 50's! The last stanza refers to the Bram Stoker short story "Dracula's Guest!"

I am the Wolf Man that howls at the night

this curse that I live with and live to fight

while helpless people run away in fright

my inner demons take control tonight

 

they call me the Monster made from madness

my brain is abnormal; full of sadness

I seek out only love and happiness

rejected, I retreat to the darkness

 

from the depths on the Lagoon I wander

seeking those who’ve awakened my slumber

these people have torn my world asunder

now they will pay greatly for this blunder

 

they come to my tomb for riches and fame

so I’ve brought upon them curses and shame

the vengeance I bring shall never be tame

death and fear will come from the Mummy’s name

 

swathed in bandages and dark spectacles

using a new, so unpredictable

able to render one Invisible

this power makes me so unstoppable

 

together good and evil live inside

two have become one as Jekyll and Hyde

the madness that conquers the mind with pride

immoral acts I can no longer hide

 

I’m the Countess who rises from the grave

seeking a love as my eternal slave

draining the red life from those that I crave

this sad world; no monster or man can save

they all, in the end, will become my slaves

I really liked this poem, it was one the best that I've read. I'm really into the wolves, vampires, monsters of the deep, and things like that. I really did enjoy this poem. I really look forward to it becoming a book if you decide to make it into one. It would be very good.
