Routine of Love and Self-respect

Routine of Love and Self-respect

A Poem by hardeep sabharwal

This morning or that,
When the sun rises over the horizon,
The taste of fish curry and omelet,
Cooked by mother's delicious hands,
On the breakfast table will tell you
That the routine of Love and Self-Respect
Refused to follow the routine of heavenly forces,
Unlike the days when I chose
Self-Respect instead of Love,
And returned to open and
Repair the pages of Love.
Now Love, like a s**t,
Sits in KFC and Domino,
In multiplexes and bus stands,
Like a cabaret dancer's skin show,
Moving from one room to another,
While Self-Respect
Sits and waits for death
Under the target files,
In bribes and unethical behavior,
Under the boss's honey-coated insults,
In the receipts of school expenses.
And it will not be so astonishing if
You will not listen to anything
and will lose yourself again
In the taste of omelet and fish curry,
And, in a hurry,
Follow the routine of life.

lol,

While Self-Respect
Sits and waits for death
Under the target files,
In bribes and unethical behavior,
Under the boss's honey-coated insults,

So true, we struggle all our lives to give the best to our families and we have to bear soo much

Well versed. I like the way you have expressed yourself.

Keeping the head down and getting on with the roti routine, a way of surving the junk-world - this is what comes across in this layered poem.

It is true that most people nowadays are too involved in their work life to really take a look at respecting themselves. Great message in this I really enjoyed reading it.

I love how you see love in food
and self respect in ethics
you have managed to do a criss cross here
so unique and very smart

We lost alot of things of value in this modernization phase
The biggest one is reservation and feeling shy
It seems like alot of people have no place for it anymore

everything is way open
its good to be free
but its good to be of elegant behaviour as well

Love is a rarity and there is nothing to display in that but only to experience. Whatever else we see is just a hollow claim...like an Idol in which God never lived..but everybody seems to worship.

thank you Avinash bhai
i like this for the visual's I can just see your mother preparing your breakfast with love each morning :) tradition and routine sometimes gets swept aside and we forget how much love is filled within the sharing ... I like this for the deeper sense of self and the nudge for us all to remember - LOVE x
