Sadness is Being Away from Home

Sadness is Being Away from Home

A Poem by M Edward H

Sadness is being away from home

in a small, bleak room, alone.

Twilight settles over the valley

and

rain clouds settle in.

The street is lit by a small dim light.

In the distance,

trucks struggle up the hills.

The rain begins,

pelting down,

drowning out the trucks

dull sound.

Now you miss the lonely roar

and wish that you were home once more.

Hitch a ride on a truck north bound…

but they are gone "

lost in the sound

of rain.
