Poem 23. CHANGES

Poem 23. CHANGES

A Chapter by Daisie Vergara (Dhaye)
"

Just a thought...

"
rain and flower photo:  rainflower.gif

I am no longer in that old picture
I've faced the changes in front of me
With open arms, I embraced them all
I threw away all the trashes of yesterday
And held on to the gems of today
Which could make me whole
Since the day you made me sick
And left me like a wilting bud

I was there
The fragile flower
Looking at those distant rays
Wilted
Damaged

But one day I have opened my eyes
And there I saw
It's not the sun
Nor the wind
Would make me renewed
It's the rain

Now that I was healed
I can smile
I can laugh
Without those tears inside
I will stand in the open once again
To wait
To feel
Not the sun
Nor the wind
But the rain.

Beautiful flow of words and thoughts.
I will stand in the open once again
"To wait
To feel
Not the sun
Nor the wind
But the rain."
When we quit living. Only darkness in the ending. I like the above lines. The rains allowed us to know we can feel and we are alive. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

The test of growth is characterized by the ability to see beyond the despair and embrace it as your springboard into greatness.

I see...you're on a trip. Take care of the angel...
Accepting change in a positive way can only strengthen and I get that. The rain is so soothing I very much agree.

This is a beautifully written affirmation, Dhaye. Profoundly uplifting, adversity is how we gain strength...

Thanks a lot, Rita.
Sounds like an empowered woman. To me, being empowered is not only about succeeding in getting what we wanted but in accepting/understanding the things that we cannot change (i know it's sounds like a prayer). Through understanding the source of our pain, we can move forward on once again. Wonderfully written Dhaye.

This is beautiful, Dhyae! You captured the feeling so well!

I love the opening line: "I am no longer in that old picture". Straightforward but so deep and great way to open the poem.

Thank you for sharing!
