Song For Me

Song For Me

A Poem by Daisie Vergara (Dhaye)
"

Trying another song, no tune for now

"
It's been a while I didn't write me a song
For all those chances, I have written just for you
This is just fair, being fair to myself
That for once I sing a song for me

II
I've learned to see and feel my pain
That once were hidden or I was blind to see
It was not fair, been unfair to myself
I've sang more songs, but nothing was for me

 ~~
Oh, I've been waiting for this moment
That I see myself in the mirror
Standing tall, smiling alone
Full of hope and love for myself
Let me love myself, let me be free
For once I need to be alone
Let me see the beauty of freedom
Let me sing this song for me

 III
Tonight is the night I'll sleep with peace
No heartache, no pain within me
For I let them go, those tears and fears inside
So I can sing this song for me

 ~~
Oh, I've been waiting for this moment
That I see myself in the mirror
Standing tall, smiling alone
Full of hope and love for myself
Let me love myself, let me be free
For once I need to be alone
Let me see the beauty of freedom
Let me sing this song for me

Dhaye,
"Song For Me" speaks of the comfort of coming into the light of self acceptance and being able to enjoy ones own company. I think that we rush to find busyness, crowds and activity to fill inner void, (if we are not careful and for many other reasons.) You have given meaning to this busy world that yells you have to be busy which many times we do but; and this is a big but; quiet is so important for growth. Anyway my review was probably rough and i hope I did not miss your intent. I would be interested to hear what spured this wonderful (early poem of yours?) Bless you in your life and writing . kathy

Funny that we would give our best to others but we often neglect our own needs. From time to time, we also need to shower ourselves a bit of reasonable luxury just like what's depicted in this piece. I love to hear you sing this.

Thanks, Gab.
nice lyrics...but also very true...sometimes we take care of others so much...that we forget to take of ourselves...self-love is necessary once in a while...just so that self doesn't feel too neglected.

Thank you so much, sir.
It would be cool to hear this put to music. We cannot live to please others, otherwise we will always feel emotionally out of tune.
