Contradictions

I said I'd hold you tight,
I said I'd hold you close.
But with you it's just a constant fight, 
You're a thorn on a bitter rose. 
And I try to tell myself,
That you are not the liar
But the contradictions within my mind,
Are why I set myself on fire.
