Past Tense

Past Tense

A Poem by heido

I loved him

I loved him

I loved him

I loved him

Can I repeat this enough to bring about the past tense

My heart can be brought forward out of this case

When we spoke of forever beneath a star struck sky

I had no notion of the eternal binds we made

I had no idea that I would carry you with me this far

That you would become not just a love, but a broken heart

I am pushing forward daily and as the night settles in the distance

You are brought about full circle

The look you gave that lifted my heart

Oh my love, how much must I cry for my loss of you

When can I shake free of the long nights, and the short days

What will it take to give you leave of my weary mind

You carry into my day, a pack of lies bound to my back

I wish to toss you aside, let someone else take up this burden

Just as I think, I am progressing, that I am getting "somewhere"

You enter stage left, with bended knee and bade me love you ever more

And as the stars circle the hemisphere in endless light

I too, love you endlessly

To love is a test. With time we look at love with different eyes and heart. A excellent poem. I like the flow and struggle to understand. Ending create some hope.

Love should have no tenses. Love is eternal. To claim love is an eternal statement. Love never fails.
