Resolution

Resolution

A Poem by Helen Woodward

PRELUDE;

Words can be wonderful

Devastatingly cruel

Unmanaged and uncontrolled

Written/stated without thought

Out of hatred and vengeful malice

At times mere words...mine and others

Leave me cold

I said...you said...we said

No solution

Just words hurting and hanging

In mid air

Catching glimpses of salty tears

Nothing has changed in aeons

Constant prattle removes all doubt

That may have formed in secret auras

Around us...

Removing the doubt in honour of truth

Creates positive fall out

MEDITATION;

I have closed my mind to the thickest rumour

The slightest innuendo of horror

To candied promises

To close encounters pending

All past dishonourable pledges

And all that has made my life miserable.

Very unique style, but I like it, A lot.
I think I kind of admire it in a way, a very beautiful flow.
Nice, very nice.

"Just words hurting and hanging

The whole poem was very well written but this one line in particular is probably one of my favorite lines that I've read recently. It just really hit me, and was a unique way of stating the pain that words can cause. well done, I look forward to reading more of your work.

I couldnt agree with you more on this piece. Words are without a doubt a persons greatest weapon...they can draw such strong emotions that we must be careful how we use them. I really enjoyed the end as it shows much wisdom from your part because no matter what, there will always be those who will use the power of words against us and try to make our "life miserable" but the best we can do about those people is rise above them. Amazing work!

Firstly, that picture is superb, memorable.

Secondly, so is your writing, friend mine. You put things into perspective purely because you understand only too well; you've learned as we all should that so many words can- if allowed, strangle emotions, hurt more than deeply, fog what would normally be clear thinking.

You've strung your words firmly, you've made your thoughts as clear as you can, you now accept that others' observations and opinions are warped with their own mind-set, no more or less. How wisely you've inferred it

And now there's gentle thought, an opening of a door then, a release of pain and a shout of 'I'm free, me again!' Be proud, love.

Very, very wise. The voice of experience. Words do come in many garbs, some good others less so, others evil. Some are plain others not. And it is strange how the very same words can be used to different effect depending on the intent of those who use them.
