This is love

This is love

A Poem by Scott Troy

Extraordinary.
A word taken for granted.
A love so brazen I cannot stand it.
A myriad of metaphors.
A simple plan like a plain wooden floor.
Flawed yet beautiful.
Drawn out as I think of you.
A tempest of the heart.
A perfect production where we both play our part.
Leading roles in a play designed to grab both our throats and our hearts.
The approach.
The turn.
An in the end.. My dear...
A sense of formality
Like folding your heart in a napkin
A request to start from the first verse all over again....

There’s nothing more beautiful than an old piece of genuine wood that’s been treated and care for - the silky softness of its shine and smoothness to the touch - your fingers just want to touch its grain all the time - softly welcoming resting beauty - all you can do is keep admiring- wonderful words 🌹

I like how you write about love. And keeping it alive by starting over again from the first verse.
Never letting the flame expire.

This I like. Playful players play pitch perfect parts. So, nice use of alliteration, you, not me. Some assonance lurking around in vowelville - good touch. And only one simile. Good work, thanks for sharing.

Honest, Open, a tad bit Clumsy, yet Charming. Enjoyed the read.

You have a pretty structure to how you write.

At all times you seem to be in control of the words. It was a pleasure to read.

(we have somewhat different definitions of love though)

I think this is an extraordinary piece. Loved the whole thing, but what I loved most was your word choices, and descriptions.

"Like folding your heart in a napkin"
"A simple plan like a wooden floor"

Great piece.
