Rain

Rain

A Poem by Tony Hwilka

Outside

night's rain

hearing drops

ski down roof

down drain

Its melody a

down hill racer

on the gain

Both have a goal

The racer

his exuberance

propels my excitement

for him to win

As rain

ponders on tin

then surrenders

within the wind

And I quietly listen

to whispering echoes

and dream

Ah the rain is oh so peaceful. I love your meter in this poem. It strikes the reader with such simplicity, yet stating something beautiful. Good job. :-)

I enjoyed the contrast in this write. But find myself drawn to the peaceful quality of the rain.
