Jerusalem

Jerusalem

A Poem by Tony Hwilka

Children play

          on vacant lots

laughing -- yelling

as if no bombs have come

How convincing they are

          to people walking by

that peace is plentiful

          in the eye of war

Parents cry

          as dreams shatter

Yet somehow the young

          see the sun

About
In the land of poetry I've been very luckly. I have had my own poetry show on radio station WTTM Trenton N.J. reading my poetry from 1982 -- 1990. Was president of the Southern Poets of N.J. and still.. more..
