Tinkerbell must Die

Tinkerbell must Die

A Poem by The Cobra Lounge

I'm so sick of poems about fairies
Tinkerbell and her freaking bag of dust
maybe she'll eat some poison berries
unicorns, rainbows, sunsets and love
why is everything from heaven above
dancing singing laughing and hugging
gag me on the spoon that I'm chugging
beautiful views and twinkling stars
fairytale endings and happily ever after
annoying meddlies and nursery rhymes
I wish I may I wish I might
have this dream I wish tonight
Cinderella needs to get laid alright
Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall
what a perfect ending for fairies and all!

The piece is so masterly written. The irony is to the point. I also dislike shabby images and worn out clichés. Though sometimes I use them in writing. And thinking about excuses I usually come to conclusion: what kind of life would be without all the sentimental stuff? It would be nothing but the stale bread. )

yep, those tinkerbell poems can sure be annoying. I love this poem - I have sometimes spent hours searching through this site for something different to read only to find ' same same same'. However every now and then I find a real gem that brightens the day. Of course I am just as guilty as the next poet in posting mediocre work from time to time - but I get the rant - I really do and you put it so cleverly

I love this poem and I agree quite a bit. Not everything is rainbows and gumdrops.

This made me laugh, really. It's true, now that I think about it, I've read so many happy fairytale endings, and then I write them too. I like how you made reference to particular tales, and subverted them to a view that's not so good. Great poem.

Actually this is excellent! It's the third one I read from you and I already love your dark style and perfection word selection.
And I think you could get to know my fairies...they are a bit more dark and sexy!

I never loved Tinkerbell when I read the books of James Matthew Barrie, way back in my childhood, Tinkerbell was a nasty little creature. lol. I love your way of perception at this mature point, and the things in life, the irony, and the wink... the humour and the litteraly "lol" aspects. You're wonderful just how you write Muse.
Haha... I read this I guess a 10 times... and just now, I found the right words, after almost a year... beautiful.

Haha perfect... it's the midway.... little buddist ;) xo
Ahhhh, you have poked, jabbed, and spliced quite vividly here, my poetic master! Tis true that poets get drawn into flowerly fairy worlds too often... and that perhaps we need to rip open some stark reality. I shall stay up late tonight in the meadow looking for flashing lights... Promise!

Damn that was funny. Personally I love tinkerbell. One of My X's said of my fondness for the little fairy "Oh course you love tink. She's petite, she shows a a lot of skin and she'll do what ever you say." I never thought about like that but that girl wasn't to far off the mark. Great poem. Thanx..

I suppose men might view her differently.lol
Even though Tinker Bell really doesn't like Wendy - I don't think I want her to die. It might be that people write such sickly sweet things because their life is just a mess and they want to dream that it could get better. It might also be said in the reverse that there are a lot of stories out there about gloom and doom. Maybe we should all realize that no one has a perfect life - quit complaining and a dreaming about that perfect life and just live the lives we've been dealt. Great poem to get the talking started Muse!

The attitude here I applaud on its own merrit I always approve of the use of the word B*****s when when it comes to a woman or faiiries or princess who threaten to undo what so many woman have accomplished in the name of feminine equality. Oh I could go on with that but the issue is a seeming unending littany of poems of varying degrees of angst and sorrow. I once thought there was a big slumber party that took place where many went and wrote one big poem and then cut it into pieces for each person to then take back and post on their page.

So if Killing Tink will stop this process, I may be for it afterall...though it sounds bad. The invisible benefit will be that our girsl will stop companriy themselves to fictional characters and then have a bit more leway when coming into themselves genuionly
And while we are at it, can we tell our girls that their hair, breasts, a*s, noses and body types are what they were given at birth because their creator chose them for the beauty they would bring to the world in their own chosen bodies?]
