Running

Running

A Poem by And She Sings

It's kind of funny, really...
The gravel crunching beneath my feet,

The moon reflecting off the streets.
These are the things that comfort me most.
When my mind runs ahead of me

Alone,

On the road to the worst side of me,

I     fight         to

Catch up

Only to find that I was running

Not from the problem,

but the solution.

Four years.
I have been trying to keep up

With my heart as it races,
But only when I'm near you.

I almost can't believe

You have me chasing impossible dreams...

And the worst part?
I hate running
