Fallen Angel

I was right. Never ceased to amaze.

I am a fallen angel.

Who fell in love with humanity.

I, who felt no emotion, was told to watch over Earth. 

Such mesmerizing sight.

Fragile creatures compared to us.

But never ceased to amaze.

Loyalty, friendship, courage,

love.

I wanted to reach down and touch such creatures.

But I was told to stand back and only look from above.

How could I?

Such strange things.

How they would embrace, laugh, cry,

feel.

I was confused by their actions.

How could they form such beautiful things?

So I reached down, and extended my hand,

but I was too far off the edge,

and my ending was predicted.

 Our father told us to love humanity, and I did.

I really did.

I stare at my broken wings and remember when I fell to Earth.

I ask myself if it was worth it.

I always say the same answer.

Yes.
