A Poem by Hilario Alves
"

A poem expressing my happiness and love for my family and friends.

"
I'm happy, I'm great
Never felt better, it must be fate
And why would't I be?
Day by day I open my eyes and I see
I get to see my nephews and nieces smile
And it took me awhile,
To realize, that those are the simplest things
True happiness brings
To my life
Don't get me wrong... I'm still living in strife
But I won't allow that to get me down
In my face there will be no frown
So next time you see me in town
Holla at the clown
With the smile on his face
And let me catch you in my gentle embrace
Why wouldn't I be happy?
To think otherwise would be sappy
I have amazing friends
Their friendship transcends
Simple human comprehension
It's like they came from another dimension
They are entirely without pretension
And when I require, they provide me with their attention
Why wouldn't I be jolly?
Why would I allow myself to live in melancholy?
When I have love from my brothers and sisters
Nothing can break us apart, not even careless whispers
I get to have so many mom's and dad's, I truly am blessed
With all that support behind me, I have no reason to feel distressed
I'm just releasing all the emotions I kept suppressed
don't make evil assumptions, instead be impressed
Nothing and no one can wipe the smile off my face
No one can take my place
I'm happy for no reason... Just... Because
Thank you ladies and gentleman... Now... Applause
