The Pain of Parting

The Pain of Parting

A Poem by A.A.Romanczuk

One by one, they fall glistening

Like starlight on the pale face of the moon

A sense of trembling fragility overwhelms me

My thoughts are flooded by You

A pained sweetness permeates

The piercing sorrow

I am torn by the distinct emotions

Casting shadows across Your features

The loveliest I've ever seen

The dearest memories of which I'll keep

I study You as an artwork, consuming my Soul

And loathe to leave Your arms

But I am told

That we must part

What words could I employ to describe

The unearthly pain which

Rushes with the strength

Of a thousand waterfalls

And bends the body

But let us speak no more of that

Resignation ought with a smile

Come

Wise Words

That are but empty echoes

Without hope of realization

Yet I shall try

To kindle one from You with mine

As moths drawn to ethereal flame

We die burned by its heat

Silken wings in shreds

Paper hearts

In Ashes

What can i say ,perfection..and nothing less
i read this some five times to reach the depth of it..
starting with the dark side of the moon were there collide and die..
this face of yours so lovely ,many features i want to keep
still i was told we had to part, and here comes so much pain like waterfall
so strong no words could describe ,yet i deal with it rationally
and with wise words and gestures i smile..though deep in i falter
but i will always try to rekindle those words on lips trying to come
i will put them into flame even if we burn by the heat..i wonder
as you say it words as strong as the waterfalls as it sides down
and crash over..these words like tons in weight..there effect
lovely write..

This was a magnificent piece, the ending struck me, I have always had a fascination with moths and their plain, paperlike wings. This was quite beautiful.

'As moths drawn to ethereal flame
We die burned by its heat
Silken wings in shreds
Paper hearts

and with that - you say it all - if there was ever any tainted view of the beauty of true love - it is hereby shattered - the vivid reality of the exquisite pain of living and loving - you capture in these profound words - and i - the reader - lives them - loves them - and i drown - till the blueness overpowers me - after that - there is little to say - little to express - little to verbalize - and in that little - lies safely - the eternity of this thought!!!

Well said :) Indeed poetry seems to flow from that which is felt most acutely --
Oh yes...learning..I am long convinced that everything that happens is meant to teach..
Thank You for these words ..for Your time :)
