Fruit Fly

Fruit Fly

A Poem by A.A.Romanczuk

It fell upon my desk
A half winged creature
Crawling in unbearable Pain
Gently I tried to lift it
Away to safety
Alas..it was
Broken beyond repair
I could only sit and watch
It fade
A few stumbling steps
It took
And fell expired to one side
Drawing a last breath
Its soul danced away
Leaving a body
Broken
Cold
And
Dead
And for me
A flask of Despair.
