The Dark Night Of The Soul

In ardent plains we can follow a quaint stream
The falling embers stuck to the corner of the ridge
A pause to reflect from the sleepless night of my dream
The heroic thunder pierced deep from within
There was skulls and cross bones left asunder
Shadows blocked my clear vision of being trapped beneath the ground
No breath to take in not even a remote sound
Out of mere sadness there prompted me to pause and think
Soon the decayed worms will have me to their pure delight
This night I awoke in hell with demonic fangs that bite
Blackened stench of death was certainly my plight
There was fire along the base of the cement block in which I was stored
With tremendous fear I sifted through the pain lest I refrain
Shattered glass with screams of zombies in their flight
Curse the night the day was far spent yet suddenly
An eclipse of the sun had tainted my inner vision
I was suddenly healed then awoke to the bird singing amidst the trees
A vow to never look back on that hellish experience
The dark night of the soul has come to it's fullest fruition
