Eruption

Eruption

A Poem by Mario Vitale
"

A very deep reflective write

"

the silhouette of a curtain drew me in

the room was beautiful in its ardent structural premise

slowly I felt a tap on my shoulder but who could it be

all of life seems to be quite a mystery

but it doesn't help when your living in a land of make believe

yet first a flicker then onto a brightened flame

The sky as dark as pitch night,
The lava red and Oh-So bright.

Hotter than fire,
Burning with a dedicated desire.

Fire Blazing,
Hands Shaking

A Terrifying sight.
Every getting up,
And taking flight

All thanks to,
A terrible eruption.

I knew about volcano eruption
I also knew there might be serious disruption
I wanted peace and no more interruptions
Yet it was inevitable but needed some caution

I knew morning will prove hell
Nothing may it to be very well
She will come rushing to the home
I will only smile and welcome

I was secretly composing poem about her
She was keenly watching me here
She may not let me know about her intention
But she had some misgivings and lived amidst tension

I wanted to give her surprise
It was fulfillment of all promises
I had promised to give her a memorable gift
I was wanted her to move visibly with some shift

She was obedient and very through a gentle lady
Her father was very good friend of my daddy
Both wanted to retain the permanent hold and friendship
We were made to fall with their lines for companionship

I was lucky enough to find her without any attempt
Even though our parents were active and very prompt
We knew little about their undisclosed plan and design
So long we remained very close and looked fine

She would air with her cuckoo voice
I would listen to her without making any noise
She will choose words deliberately to please
I will try to look normal and respond at ease

I gave her no present since our marriage
We spent the life nicely through out the age
I planned some surprise and prayed for its success
I did not want to give her any hint or access

We had never felt any excitement
As everything had come to us with no bad moments
We had enough fortune and even good standing
I had not uttered a word in her praise even with good understanding

I wrote everything about her frankly
I thought she may read it happily
I also wrote that I was simply quarrelling
It was to keep her under control and for level playing

Somehow she got wind of everything
She had searched all over for something
She could lay finally hand on much sought for letter
I was prepared to receive blows for better
