We Are The Immortal

We Are The Immortal

A Poem by Mario Vitale
"

many saw her from a far dazzling lights inside her head trapped bellow a pillow distant flow

"

many saw her from a far

dazzling lights inside her head

trapped bellow a pillow distant flow

coming from Ellis Island they tasted this new found land

freedom's children

our hearts soar in tender lights

forget the night

for the day is far too spent

this new found land of freedom

calms are nerves with a tender word

their the ancients have gone before us

destined in the furtherance of society's claim

we embark on this journey a long way from home

benneath the tender sod the earth do dwell

leaving behind our living hell
