The Star Series: Sungrazers

The Star Series: Sungrazers

A Poem by H.L. Cerveise

Sungrazers

Both search for that most desired.

They get burnt in the scorching rays.

Eyes tear from the glaring enlightenment.

The hero falls into the raging sun,

He burns to useless black ashes.

Now gone are the cool sweet moments.

The endless fire from the sun now surrounds.

The heroine is thrown into the void,

She freezes to useless black crystals.

Now gone are the warm sweet moments.

The endless cold of space now surrounds.

Both are slain by that life-giving light and forsaken.

They are engulfed in burning pain.

Eyes tearless as the stars forget their dreams.

You sure now how to make pain sweet .... there are areas of the brain that respond to pain in light .... the scene between two .... being all and being nothing but the presence of the sun

A painting .... if i find a studio ... i will start doing your work

Not a fan of it

I'm not sure if I'm reading of two lovers, or two heroes now gone or both. I am intrigued by two lines:
"Eyes tear from the glaring enlightenment" and "Eyes tearless as the stars forget their dreams"
I must read it from my heart to take what it speaks to me rather than try to guess at your intentions.
Both search- they fly so close to the fire of enlightenment, they cannot remain separate from that which they seek. In order to find enlightenment, or is it love?- they fall into the fire. Either the union with that which gives enlightenment kills them each, or the compelling nature of seeking the passion fire of love (without a cooling balance of the eternal waters) kills them both. They are male and female- hero and heroine- is it their arrogance or their blindness that does not allow them to see the fire will take them- one into the flame, the other into the void? It seems too simple to say that this is about the burning potential of love that lacks the right elements for balance and preservation. Sometimes love feels this way, but I sense a more spiritual lesson here. When the stars forget their dreams, it is as if a race of gods and goddesses have perished, no one, not even the stars, remembering what they were here for. This is a poem to sit with and ponder. Do you want to fill in any of the meaning for me so I know which way to go in my feelings about it? Thought-provoking, more like an epic mystery of the universe than a human love story. Great writing, intense and draws me in to understand, though perhaps better for me to be left in mystery than be scorched by too near a visit to this fiery place? Thank you!
