Write about me

Write about me

A Poem by Courtney Hough

I wish you’d write about me,

Tell me the thoughts of your heart.

Tell me, why me?

Was it from the start?

I wish you’d tell me,

In a way to make me cry.

What makes me special,

Why do you love me, why?

You know what holds my favor,

Thoughts of paper and pen.

That’s how I want to be told,

My longest dearest friend.

Words sung by your tongue,

And touched by your hand.

Let me read the feelings,

Of a strong man.

Write to tell me you love me,

Write about me, love.

Tell me all your truth and passions,

Seal it with a kiss and a hug.

This is beautifully urgent and longing. I think it's a completely reasonable request! And a classically romantic one!! Love the part about reading the feelings of a strong man. I think that is important to remind men that they are no less strong when they reveal the utter vulnerability of their true feelings, and on the contrary, we find them stronger and sexier for being bold enough to just say it and declare their love! We need that! Lovely!! :)

Some poems strangle me strangely and sudden like that vacant stare on some rich alleycat bouncing round his midnight can, others send me melting into the choice of words and still others just pour like rain over each artery in my existence. Poems like these, however keep me alive as they are the ones that tell me how much I need it, or maybe just the careless way we leave our words lying about the grass at times. When evening settles into memory and memory into starvation, this poem will remind me of all in this and more. It will remind me just how powerful the sleeve can brush and betray my emotions with a single sentence, Thank you for reminding me of this ability behind every line that we, as poets ad keepers of the invisible, write with our light; if only to maintain.

How could I not?..Smiles
I'm a old man. I was in the military for almost 15 years. I kept the letters send to me when I was deployed. I miss the days of letters. Love letters become gold in old age.
"Write to tell me you love me,
Write about me, love.
Tell me all your truth and passions,
Seal it with a kiss and a hug"
I agree with the above lines. Few of us tell our love one's. How we need and appreciate them. Thank you Courtney for sharing the amazing poetry.
