And with this key I lock my heart
                With the hope it won’t be torn apart
                I wrap it tight in iron chains
                A promise I’ll never be the same

 

And with this cloth I cover my eyes
                With the hope I won’t see why
                You tie me on your string of lies
                A promise I will be more wise

 

And with these plugs I close my ears
                With the hope I won’t ever hear
                Your smooth, cool, seductive voice
                A promise I will have a choice

 

It’s time for me
To be set free

 

I throw this key into the sea
With the hope you’ll never come for me
And open up my heart again
 And let the pain come rushing in

 

I rip this cloth with all my rage
With the hope I’ve torn the page
Of the book you wrote for me
A story that can never be

 

I crush these plugs beneath my feet
With the hope you’ll never meet
The scared girl I used to be
The first time you came to me

Sounds like she is running from love. Scared, careful, and cast with emotional shields. Rhyme well, and the point spoke clear. To shield ones heart from the love she fears.

Wow.. so fierce with flow.. the rhythm, rhyme and flow are incredible! Fury of passion, rage and armor of self-containment felt blaring through! My favorite stanza was:

I rip this cloth with all my rage
With the hope I've torn the page
Of the book you wrote for me
A story that can never be

A poem truly all on it's own.. brilliantly portrayed writing of moving on and declaration of being set free!!! =)
