Form and Function

Form and Function

A Poem by Steve

Does it rhyme I ask myself with consternation

Repeated vocalization looking for sounds replication

Rules of engagement result in thoughts castration

Furrowed brow that resembles my brain's permutation

Frozen solid in stare yet losing hydration

Bend words articulation into proper form allocation

Unstructured ideas and emotions onto paper migration

But the more that I type the less the agitation

As fingers move with greater adapt coordination

Thoughts move from suffocation to fear of past contradiction

And words dislocation by my rhymes duplication

As I approach the end in self condemnation

I hit post with reservation and trepid anticipation.

Clap, Clap, Clap! Nice use of vocabulary skills and an apt description of your actions and your mental state as you say "hit post with reservation". I found this creative and a valiant effort at iambic pentameter, I look forward to reading your future consonantal alliteration.

Thank you for reading and the great review!
Rhyming is not always easy. Making it sound natural as well as knowing the accents or syllable counts in a line is often overlooked.
