His Duty

His Duty

A Poem by zaneybear

Our eyes meet,

the last time I'd see him.

His eyes a fiery red,

mine a deep ocean blue.

As he gazes far into mine,

I can see him sinking,

sinking, drowning  in my tears.

As i cry for him,  I cry for me as well.

He is no longer with me,

separated like fire and water.

longing to be together again.

He said it was time to go,

I pleaded and begged the word No.

He said he had to, It was his duty.

Till this day, I still believe,

This was a punishment,

God had up his sleeve.

Just to impact us in a lousy way.

I still cry when I'm alone.

I just have to hear his name,

triggers everything from before the time he went away.

It was His Duty.

Twas a heart felt piece. No wrong can be made when ink is scribed from the depths of one's most sacred soul. You did no wrong.
