waking up makes me forget the things
i told myself i'd change the night before
and just like that, what i'm used to
refuses to let me go
as a movie screening set to replay itself
over and over
forgotten in an empty dark room.

How sad, and how very true. We go to be each night and think. Things will be different tomorrow!. Good or bad or even indifferent!. And morw so, they are just exactly the same. Cycle of life. Going around and around. Feeling as thou you are stuck in a trap. And the night time is your only comfort. When you manage to sleep.

I feel like often we disassociate and delay things we need to work on, even if we want to work on it, because it's not convenient or we don't feel up to the task. But it's at those times when you should really push yourself to work on those things because that's likely when you need it most. You shouldn't save goals for when you have motivation, motivation comes and goes but opportunities are limited so you should always work on them ASAP. This is a good poem from the perspective of someone who is self aware but doesn't know how to fix the cycle. I like it.
