If I slow down

If I slow down

A Poem by Liz Alexander

Days by day
The summer comes to a close
If I sit down
If I slow down
the thought will dawn on me
That this is my last summer is gone
That I am embarking on my last year
With ...
A place that is like a second home to me
It's my CHill
In the mist of chaos
It is always full of hugs and love
During the days it's filled with the beauty of worship
Kids worshipping by singing, screaming, and dancing praises
Each louder than the last
From the quietest whisper to the loudest scream
All singing how
Awesome our GOD is

Looking back
I still can't believe it's been four years
Days filled with basketball
My game not gotten any better 😁
Let my soul cherish the sing alongs in the vans
While on the way home
Cherish the long van rides home
Tears are brought to my eyes
When I reflect
As I slow down
As I sit dow
That possibly that my last summer is over
😭
