The Time Before Now

The Time Before Now

A Poem by icelandicblue

Beneath ancient boughs, beyond the eyes
of ordinary men sits a tower
on the edge of the Earth itself,
a spiritual way station of great significance.

It is a respite from the
long shadows and hissed whispers
of the bellicose demands of worlds
that exist well beyond this one.

There is a sanctity here, where the sacraments of nature lie in stillness,
punctuated only by the sweetness of being one with this place,
while the susurrus of the leaves softly calls
out to you in a  greeting only you can understand.

There is magic in here that cannot be manipulated
nor measured; it waits for the worthy to come and
unpin her hair while she languidly brushes it and
contemplates all that she beholds.

One does not stumble upon such locations,
instead an invitation is extended, and those who
seek something beyond themselves, a greater truth,
can feel it in their thrumming bones, and so they come.

There is no time limit that can be imposed,
for time stands still here while energy flows
out of the Earth and into the the heart of the wanderer
as she becomes the pulse, and the life breath of the time before now.

I like the way you the words and your thoughts.
"There is no time limit that can be imposed,
for time stands still here while energy flows
out of the Earth and into the the heart of the wanderer
as she becomes the pulse, and the life breath of the time before now"
The above lines stood out to me. I like to wander away from the city. Maybe find something wonderful. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

It's really good to see you. ; )
A place regarded as an earthly paradise, especially when involving a retreat from the pressures of modern civilization. A poetic description of Shangri-La; if only I had a road map, I'd be off .. lovely write - :-)
