The Lemon Tree

The Lemon Tree

A Poem by Igor G. Balatsky
"

from 'Dreamland'

* * *

I found myself in a lemon tree

it grew so high in Lemonland

birds below

and birds above me

were my folks in faith.

And it was so amazing

to hang around with them

chat away to them and sing with them

the song of love and freedom

that sounded

so strange but familiar to me.

And it was so exiting

to climb the lemon-tree among the lemon stars

up and higher

and be so light as I had never been

and feel so free as I had never felt

within my busy mind

inside my human body

 before.

Marvelous! I feel most at home in nature and what better place to be in nature than a place of your own imagination.

There's a dream and a song in this, a feeling of airiness. There's endless space around and within your Lemonland, it makes me smile, relaxes me, makes me sigh. 'And it was so exiting ~ to climb the lemon-tree among the lemon stars .. '
