A bowl of rice. Sijo #1

A bowl of rice. Sijo #1

A Poem by Igor G. Balatsky

A BOWL OF RICE

Do much I need in rainy day of autumn -

In gloomy hour of parting with bright summer?

A word of pray, a sunshine ray, a bowl of rice.

This is not English because it speaks straight to the soul...which wants to be in so many places at once...wants to live a new life everyday...which hungers for a thousand different journeys all happening at the same time...wants to eat drink see smell hear feel and experience every last inch of the world...but it is trapped in a body that has so many limitations...that's why I love poetry...it gives that much-needed window to my soul through which it can make its flight even if only for a short time...and your writing is the brightest of those windows...your poetry speaks straight to my soul...so I say, this is not English.

Very pretty and effective. Sounds like a something a Buddhis monk might write.
