Our Waltz of Absent Rhythm

Our Waltz of Absent Rhythm

A Poem by Deidre A. H.
"

"Nervous giggles taint my breath as//you bend my back for emphasis."

"

My awkward limbs guided by your

swift and subtle motions

nervous giggles taint my breath as

you bend my back for emphasis

kisses pillowed with warmth

heating me outside in

tenderness ensconcing me in its

sheer gossamer cloth

Your crass demeanor

tempered with bursts of

fire from your shielded core

an aura to darken alleyways

yet a love once coaxed

sizzling alive

You call my story a waltz;

someone begging to break the tension

a dance I know not of the

steps fumbling around the beat

still you pull me gently

enclose my heart

and I alone am yours
