What is it that Makes You Wait?

What is it that Makes You Wait?

A Poem by Tyrae'
"

Attempting to understand the feelings of someone who has liked you for a very long time

"

As the days add up

And the seasons change

Your loyalty to me

Still stays the same....

What is it that makes you wait?

For me to begin to date

It has to be something more than fate.

Almost 3 years have gone by

And yet I still find you on my side

Abiding your time

Reasured with the hope that everything'll be just fine

Once I'm yours

And you are mine

My thoughts about these things

Are more than just lines

On a piece of paper

A lot more than thrown together rhymes

That I'll reread over and over again later...

Are you sure I'm worth waiting for?

Are you only looking to explore?

While I seek the happiness within your arms

Open wide like an opportunity door.

Will you be disappointed if my life is filled with storms

Instead of charms?

Will you curse your subconcious for not setting off the alarms

Sooner to warn you of your impending danger?

We only believe that we know each other,

But without sharing our innermost feelings,

We'd become definite strangers....

I cannot understand why you stand in the rain of my emotional turmoil

Knowing full well that you're going to get wet

Perhaps I'm just not on that level of love yet...

Maybe you've been expecting it...

All along

Maybe you're waiting for that moment

When I feel what you feel and our hearts burst out into one harmonious song

This is what I would hope for,

If I were you,

And I've been waiting patiently this long....
