A RHAPSODY ON THE 69 INDEPENDENCE DAY

The ironical meaning of freedom

A RHAPSODY
 ON THE 69 INDEPENDENCE DAY

The whole nation is rejoicing

On this very Day,

With smile

On their broad face,

Words of thanks

On every lips,

Words of praise

On every mouth,

Sweets are exchanged,

The TV channels echo

Of this great day,

Official centres are high

With tri-colours,

Eyes are drowned

in blissful tears.

While at the far corner

Of the east,

Her people are weeping,

The family is mourning,

The children are bursting,

 their faces are lined

in anxiousness;

Crushing their hands,

Smashing their head,

Singing helplessly for

Their heroes,

Love for the nation,

Break for the heart,

 Tears of sorrow,

Shame for the country.
