Breakdown

 

Slips away

like the leaves

in May.

The child stumbles,

falls;

crumbles.

She leaves

and takes it all,

hopes and dreams.

The heart screams

as tears

serve as reminders of fears.

Clutched fist,

-“You’re stronger than this,

No need to hurt your wrist”.

Love, pain,

experienced again and again,

that’s what living is.

This is one of your best. The pain resonates. I thoroughly enjoyed this write. It seems so selfish to say this, given its origins, to say "give us more of this gut-wrenching poetry", knowing full well from where it was born, but I'll say it anyway..."Please, sir, may I have some more?"
