Smolder

On criticism, and the poor taking thereof.

A word, a phrase, a paragraph, a rant, a dissertation-

Any condemnation of my actions, words, my soul,

A subtle barb, an offhand word, a frank evaluation,

Will smolder in my consciousness like ever-burning coal.
