dog-ear

dog-ear

A Poem by stephen dillon
"

idk

"

past lives keep pace

              with my shadow

who is desperatly running, perspiation down his face

              like an animal

timing comes fast when you lose your place

             i always dog-ear my

spot in the book

so be my guest slam the ages shut

                                fade to black.......

Wow, this was exactly what I thought it was going to be about. But I don't say that in a bad way, dot worry. I'm never one to dog ear pages in a book (a certain pet peeve of mine that many others I know do), but I do get quite enraged inside when I suddenly lose my page in a book. Nowadays, I try to remember the page number I'm on if ever I am to lose my page and not have a bookmark. But great poem nonetheless!

I love experiments in poetry...that's when you can create something truly unique such as this! One quick little correction:

perspiation down his face

"perspiration"
