Noel

Noel

A Poem by (no es) maria
"

look in mirror

"

She has the butterflies swarming
around the mouth
she gives the honey, fire
gives me the piece of
canvas, i look at it, shrug
fat id's c**t decimated
we're so punk rock that it hurts
(just typing that makes me laugh
in the...funniness of that idea)
i've got the snow between the
ears and the wind tunnel
posted online

"on the stage, nothing else
matters",
said noel, her real name is
Sarcasm
i tell her, "you and i have
something in common" and we laugh
it's nice to joke so
freely with another deviant

we're both wolves in
wolf's clothing from last season
the midwest is always
so far behind
a b***h in heat,
naw, that wasn't me
she gave me some spare change for bus fare
and asked me to kick
aside all other distractions
focus on the true function of disorder

"happiness shouldn't be the goal
happiness is the f*****g way, guey.
maybe if you payed attention
to the beauty in everything
you'll stop finding the mistakes in yourself."

she winks when i wink
smiles when i smile
when i came to, later this
afternoon
smiled at the reflection after
brushing my teeth,
plucking strays from my eyebrow

noel, sing the song,
no-el
know el
no, ella
know ella
ella is her
ella es mi

Pretty language + whatever = a lot of pretty stuff on a page, but I'm still trying to find the beautiful story of things. I like to eat raw fish and raspberries. My interests are vast, one thin.. more..
