Pools of Tears

Pools of Tears

A Poem by ~ Tex

Late night
   drink in hand
      music playing

Feeling the past
   feeling the pain
Lying in pools of tears
   re-living old fears

Watched the fight
   held the loss of life

Watched things burn
   felt warm blood flow

Looked into beautiful eyes
   as they closed forever

Felt the warmth fade
   as the final breath left

Memories haunt the past
   yet still the future unfolds...

And the sun shines bright
and the stars still sparkle every night...

Next song.
   Next drink.

Oh man I loved this. So sad and so true. The world never stops, it keeps going no matter what you have going on. Have a drink and keep living. Wonderful poem

This is so very readable and something most people could relate to, I love the memory flashes throughout, they're very real and well balanced with the message of hope at the end. Annie :)

Without the darkness there would be no light. Without death, we would not know life. . . this is a good write. I'm glad I came by it.

The eternal duality of life...the black/white, dead/alive of existence, beautifully captured here.

Next song = new day.

That's a great poem. I love how it's summed up in the most simple of words but still you describe grief and how you should cherish the little things, and look to the positive. Touching, really.

I can't wait to read more of your amazing works! No wonder you've been published for poetry before.

Reflective. Good thing it's nothing like my poems; they're so shallow compared to yours.
