Our worth

As I gaze into your eyes, I wonder how many looked into them, in search of a shore, but drowned in the deep ocean.

You look at me, waiting for me to climb the ladder of your love, but ultimately fall. 

It seems so wild, so unheard of, for you to feel the same.

And I know I hope for more than what is in the realms of possibility.

Yet I go on,

In hope that if not today, someday you will realize our worth.

And I might be able to hold on until then.
