It Don't Matter

It Don't Matter

A Poem by Katie Snyder

I found your letter from a year before---

Before I read it, got up and closed the door

And I dont regret it. I can't help but smile.

Between now and then. Oh, its been a while....

It doesn't matter that I cried myself to sleep

And it doesn't matter that I couldn't  count sheep

It don't matter bout' the hurt, the tears

The love, the fears

It don't matter anymore.

It don't matter

With my remorse, it was hard to get by

Any mention of you, made me want to laugh but I cried

Now lookin' back... I'm seein the facts

Nothin' was lost afterall... but everything was gained

Doesn't matter... that I fell so hard.

Doesn't matter that I felt completely scarred.

It don't matter bout' the hurt, the the tears

The love. The fears.

It don't matter anymore.

It don't matter.

Hands on the mirror. Lookin' at a reflection of a girl

Who's taken on part of this world

And now I realize

Her eyes shine now

Now with not tears, but the fire there once was.

It don't matter anymore.

It don't matter
