A small whisper in my ear tells me

"Time"

 It seems so far away

 To ease the pain

I can see you at night

Waiting for me

You tell me

Not Yet

When work is done

I can join you

Dear Annie!
Time....four alphabet letters and yet it spans eternity! I have read your note that you heard this word whispered after your husband died. It is only time until we shall join our loved ones again! This is a most thought provoking write that instructs me to enjoy what I have before it is gone!
Thank you for making me stop to think!
Blessings!
Sheila

At first I thought this was a woman contemplating the end of all flesh as though she were conversing with God, but now I think it may have been a nearer beloved you were addressing. You might look at my poem to my grandmother, which has near the end the line, "...and fly to the arms of my Dearest Dear..." , expressing a similar dichotomy.

Well, like one of your other reviewers, I believe that this eloquent poem could be expressing the writer's perspective, regarding those final moments in our lives. However you interpret this piece, it certainly inspires the reader to think.

Thankyou, Anita, for sharing these thoughts with us, in what is clearly a very personal poem. Great writing!

This is an interesting piece. It appears to be referring to death, or am I mistaken? I can't say I ever wait for or look forward to death; I enjoy my life too much. But you expressed a feeling many have, as I have heard it said before. Very well written.

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful.

Love is the comforter, love reaches out until fingers meet, love lasts into eternity.
