In the distance

In the distance

A Poem by Jack...
"

So far away

"

In the distance

Where does your sun rise (for my heart longs this place)

Does my breath mingle with yours across the miles

Now as you stir in the new dawn’s glow

Can you hear my beating heart echo

While brewing your morning cup

Do your thoughts whisper me

As you embrace the light

Shining of the new day

Touching your skin

With the warmth

That I want

To be

For...

It is

Here I sit

In a dark office

Staring to the east

Dreaming of fairer days

Sipping from a staled cup

Counting the scattered minutes

Desperately trying to put into words

The depth of the affection and aching desires

Causing the emptiness in this lonely life to breathe

Hiding the pain of my wanting soul behind a seamed smile

Sending my love out to only you (for you are my forever sunrise)

In the distance

interesting, new format. Of course, the words and flow are great as well and the emotion is put across really well, with the assistance of powerful imagery. I really like this poem :)

A beautiful rendition when east meets west. Poignantly romantic, the longing stretches out into the hemispheres. A truly lovely poem. ; )

Great use of form on the line creation for an extra artistic/dramatic effect. Beautiful dedication, and dialogue with your muse, showing great strength in the face of emotional struggles. This line emotes so much, "Hiding the pain of my wanting soul behind a seamed smile". Fine write.

Thanks so much Astro.
SUPERB - from images to the way you express feelings, not to mention the great format of this poem in its crescendo going back and forward, is just exceptional. I will rated 100/100 without any hesitation

Thank you so very much Petra. I appreciate your kind words to me.
This has such a lovely flow and dynamic to it. The visuals in that picture...wow! "Causing the emptiness in this lonely life to breath." I love that line. It's stunning because it's so true. There are things, such as sunrises and love that really evoke the expansion of breath in a way we never knew possible. Very well done.
