A Million Tiny Pieces

A Million Tiny Pieces

A Poem by Jack...
"

Oh how I wish I could keep it together

"

A Million Tiny Pieces

Taken while you wept on clustered fears of empty dreams,

broken remnants shuttered as in some storm cloud cellar

and yet the pain seeps through tiny cracks

invading every pore, seeking that which keeps fracturing

Puddles form at frozen feet, unable to move, chilled of anguish,

sub-zero burdens slither their way into the mind’s endless pathways,

hiding in corners, darkened at angular positions,

wedges of meeting points sheltering these evil thoughts

Falling on tender knees, hands clenched, pleading on tear drop pages

emotions, these concrete wishes stained on thin lines

appear from chained memories, tethered to branchless trees,

striking swiftly as I watch your heart shatter…

into a million tiny pieces on the floor…and I with it

You are welcome :)
We all take refuge in sadness...this is work of sadness is beautiful...some of the phrases are wonderful "clustered fears of empty dreams", "these concrete wishes stained on thin lines
appear from chained memories"! Brilliant work

Sad romance poetry FOR THE WORLD!
One of the hardest things in writing a poem is ending it. You, on the other hand, do so effortlessly. I mean, my favorite part of your poems is often the ending line. It's always a sweet sorrow.

Thanks so much my friend.
enjoyed reading this poem of a million pieces... hope you don't mind, but was thinking, it might read and sound better if you got rid of "cloud" in line two, and if you did a Frieda thing and used "tear'd" instead of tear drop pages. I'm not a very good critiquer, so this may not work for you. liked that image of sub zero burdens.. "icy"

Jack she would be honored and tickled pink
Being a minimalist it's not easy for me reading your work. You heap description on each vision. You are a very talented and prolific writer, and this piece has a particular resonance to my life though.

It's a sad read. The line breaks are a small detail I am very fond of, they really capture the essence of the poem, one of uneven fracturing and splitting along jagged faults. It's very vivid, easy to visualize what's happening.
As a side note, where you aware the title is the same as the famous "memoir" of a drug addict that was later proved to be mostly false?
