And the earth weeps

And the earth weeps

A Poem by Jack...

And the earth weeps

Posy petal’d tear drops

on saffron colored morns

fall deep in the shadows

where sunshine is only a reflection

of the beauty once shared

Clouded days sing dreary sonnets

and all other butterflies are sad,

for those cherished wings

of brilliant colors

are gone from this field

 ~

Now a misty shade of gray

lingering in the thoughts

of one so missed…

finds the garden gates locked,

never to open again

 ~

Where rainbows once painted blue hydrangea skies

and daffodil promises carried our smiles,

sorrow now gathers in shapeless corners,

missing this butterfly

all had so come to adore

 ~

and the earth weeps…

Tis a Beauty Jack,
Glad to see you back again. Missed you very much.
Did you ever get to see the tribute I wrote you?
There were many, many responses with kind words of mutual regards for you.
I hope you get a chance to read it sometime.

sorrow now gathers in shapeless corners,
missing this butterfly
At times words, reviews, consoling everything fails when we loose those butterflies

An amazing poem with earth and humanity shaking sincerity and beauty within the compassion of the narrator to those suffering, hurting and living vicariously. As they have missed the butterflies of the fields, we have missed your gorgeous poetry. Excellent...:)..........

Jack it is so good to read you again. I have to say this is probably my favourite of all of the many poems of yours I have ever read. It is sad and poignant in describing in beautiful metaphors loss. And there are so many of our friends on WC who have suffered so. Lovely poem!
